Anxiety Isn’t Just Worrying
When people hear the word anxiety, they often think of worrying.
But anxiety can show up in many different ways.
It can look like:
Overthinking every conversation
Finding it difficult to relax
Feeling constantly on edge
Struggling to switch off at night
Expecting the worst to happen
Feeling exhausted all the time
Being highly self-critical
Avoiding situations that feel overwhelming
For some people, anxiety feels physical.
A racing heart.
Tightness in the chest.
A knot in the stomach.
Difficulty sleeping.
Feeling constantly alert.
Living with anxiety can be exhausting.
It can feel as though your mind never gets a moment’s peace.
The good news is that anxiety doesn’t have to control your life.
Counselling can help you understand where your anxiety comes from, recognise patterns and develop a greater understanding of yourself.
Most importantly, it can help you realise that you are not alone in what you’re experiencing.
